DuPont was nothing short of dominant in this viewing. With an Hlinka Gretzky Cup Gold Medal on the line, DuPont had his best game of the tournament. He displayed all of the tools that have him as the early favorite to go 1st overall in the 2027 Draft. The 4-way skating ability is elite, and he uses this exceptionally well in all 3 zones. Offensively, his lateral shiftiness regularly made guys miss at the OZ Blueline. In the NZ and DZ he used his feet extremely well to quickly close on gaps and strip pucks off the other team. He was electric as an open ice puck carrier, creating advantages and easy entries all over the ice. The offensive vision as a playmaker was elite, as he made several no-look passes and had himself a night with 4 assists, 3 of which were primary. He didn't score, but the shot looked dangerous as well and he showed an ability to get it off quickly. Defensively he was active and engaged, tying guys up physically and using great leverage to win battles. This game was an elite performance, and one that showed exactly what the highly touted DuPont is capable of. At this point in the draft cycle, this looks like the player to beat.
